At Iron + Ivy Hair Studio in Queenstown, going blonde costs from $352 for a full head of foils with a bond treatment, toner and cut, and from $376 for balayage. If you are starting dark or have old colour in your hair, plan for two or three visits and a higher total. Your exact price is confirmed at a free consultation before anything is booked.
Every blonde appointment here is four parts: the lightening (foils or balayage), a bond treatment to protect the hair, a toner to set the shade, and a cut or blow dry to finish. Our menu lists them separately; this page adds them up for you.

Hair history matters as much as natural colour. Box dye, old permanent colour and henna all slow the lift. That is why we test a strand at your consultation and tell you how many visits you are looking at before you commit.
Maintenance is the part people forget to budget for. A realistic year of blonde at Iron + Ivy looks like a colour appointment every 8 to 12 weeks, a toner refresh in between if you like it cool, and a bond treatment each time. Purple shampoo at home does the rest.

At Iron + Ivy, from $352 for full head foils with a bond treatment, toner and cut, or from $376 for balayage. Starting from dark hair usually takes two or three visits, so budget for the total journey, not one appointment.
If you are naturally light to medium brown with no old colour, often yes. Dark or previously coloured hair is lightened over two or three visits to keep it healthy. Your consultation will tell you which you are.
Time and product. A full blonde appointment is three to four hours, uses lightener, bond treatment and toner, and finishes with a cut or blow dry. You are paying for a skilled artist’s afternoon and the products that keep your hair strong.
Yes, on foil and balayage appointments. The bond treatment protects the hair during lightening and the toner sets the final shade. Without them blonde looks brassy and feels rough, so we do not skip them.
Yes. New clients have a free in-person consultation first, then a non-refundable booking fee from $100, or $200 for balayage and large lightening services, which comes off your appointment.
Every 8 to 12 weeks for colour, with an optional toner refresh in between. Balayage and lived-in blonde can stretch longer than foils.
